Cy Pres Funds
The National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum welcomes cy pres designations of unclaimed settlement funds from class action lawsuits, which are used to support our work advancing the core interests of underlying class members.
As the only national, multi-issue Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women’s organization in the country, NAPAWF’s mission is to build a movement to advance social justice and human rights for AAPI women and girls. Through national and grassroots organizing, advocacy and education/training, NAPAWF advocates in the areas of economic justice (employment and workers’ rights and to combat employment discrimination on the basis of race, gender and sexual orientation/gender identity, sexual harassment, and wage disparities), immigrant rights, and reproductive justice for millions of AAPI women, girls and transgender and gender non-conforming people all across the country.
If you, your firm, or someone you know is party to or counsel on a class action case involving potential cy pres awards, you can nominate NAPAWF as an awardee. Awards can be accepted to benefit our general work or can be designated to a specific area of our work: economic justice, immigrant rights, and reproductive justice.
For more information about cy pres awards, please read our Cy Pres Awards Toolkit (link to document).
If you have any questions, need documents or information, or are interested in designating NAPAWF as a cy pres award recipient, please contact Jane Liu at firstname.lastname@example.org.
