We are facing an abortion access crisis.

It has been one year since the United States Supreme Court overturned nearly 50 years of legal precedent on the constitutional right to abortion. Even before the fall of Roe, the path to getting an abortion was out of reach for many Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) women, marked by cultural, economic, and systemic barriers. The Dobbs decision has further emboldened states to enact their own abortion restrictions and bans, dealing yet another blow to AAPI women seeking abortion care.

Overturning Roe cut off access to abortion care and put the well-being and financial stability for millions of AAPI women and families at risk.

The HEAL for Immigrant Families Act

Every person deserves affordable health care regardless of their status or how long they have been in the U.S. Being able to get health care, including preventive, routine, and critical health services too often depends on our immigration status.

The HEAL Act removes the legal and policy barriers to affordable health care that disproportionately harm immigrant families. Restoring access to basic health care for immigrant families enables them to make decisions about their bodies, their lives, and their communities with dignity.

Medication Abortion Study

Released on May 30, 2023 · Download

NAPAWF, in partnership with Ibis Reproductive Health, has released the findings of a first-of-its-kind study examining Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander people's experiences with medication abortion. With the future of medication abortion, which accounts for over half of all abortions in the United States, hanging in the balance, this research offers a unique window into the challenges and setbacks AANHPI communities face when accessing abortion care.
