Our Story

From 100 Founding Sisters in 1996 to a national movement in 2026, NAPAWF has spent three decades building power, advancing justice, and creating space for our communities to lead.

Why This Celebration Matters

Thirty years ago, 100 Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women came together to ensure our communities would no longer be invisible in conversations about gender, race, and justice.

That gathering became NAPAWF.

Today, our communities face renewed attacks on reproductive freedom, immigrant rights, economic security, and democratic participation. Yet our movement is stronger, more multilingual, and more connected than ever.

This anniversary is more than a celebration of where we’ve been. It is an investment in where we’re going.

Proceeds from the gala will help support leadership development, storytelling programs, digital organizing, and the next generation of AAPI women and gender-expansive leaders shaping the future of our communities.
